Tenrox Timesheet time management software is a completely web-based time tracking solution that allows you to monitor projects, approve hours and submit information to payroll from almost anywhere – all you need is an internet connection. Tenrox is compatible with most popular supporting applications, such as QuickBooks, Sage, Ceridian, Paychex, Oracle, Salesforce and many more. With this time tracking software, you can monitor such things as project hours, resources, sick time, overtime, and credit card transactions, and you can also manage expenditures, which is why this is our TopTenREVIEWS Silver Award winner.
Additionally, Tenrox Timesheet can help ensure that your company is complying with government regulations. You can also program this application to support your own internal requirements regarding overtime, sick leave, project requirements and more. It does take some time to learn, and Tenrox's customer support system is lacking, but it is still one of the best time tracking software options available.
Tenrox Timesheet does everything we are looking for in terms of time tracking. It can track by the hour or by the minute, and you can track time manually or automatically. It can help you manage and enforce overtime, sick leave, government required rules and travel policies. This time tracking software is designed to support all required federal rules, such as Sarbanes-Oxley law, Family and Medical Leave Act and California Wage laws.
The timesheet software also goes beyond just tracking time. It can track by any unit you desire, such as group, project, expense, employee, contractor and more. This kind of flexibility is important if you work with independent contractors and mobile sales forces. And as an added bonus, it is compatible with your accounting tools and payroll service, so you can invoice or submit employee hours to payroll right from the application. They also offer various currency rates, timesheet templates and project manager approval.
Tenrox Timesheet can configure any type of report you desire, which makes it hard to settle on a specific number of reports that it offers. You can view the reports in columns or a pie chart format, and you can export data to QuickBooks or Excel. This time tracking application also offers ad-hoc reporting and analytics. Analytics uses an assortment of dashboards, reports and graphs to paint a better picture of how your company manages its time. Tenrox Timesheet can track business units, teams, groups, sites, projects, tasks or phases. Ad-hoc reporting allows you to create specific, customized queries without the need for programming knowledge.
The thing we like most about this time tracking software is its compatibility with other programs. It integrates with accounting applications such as QuickBooks, Great Plains and Sage ACCPAC. The application also works with payroll services like ADP, Ceridian and Paychex. It is also compatible with most major ERP programs, people management services and CRM services.
Additionally, Tenrox Timesheet is web-based, which means you can access the application from anywhere. The time tracking software works with just about any operating system. Web-based time tracking applications also have the advantage of being constantly updated, so you never have to worry about upgrading or installing the latest version on all of your computers. You can move between your laptop and computer without any worries. Tenrox also offers a mobile version of this application that can be used on Android, Blackberry and iPhone operating systems.
The graphical workflow engine makes tracking a project easy. All you have to do is drag and drop icons to change the workflow for any process. You don't need to be a web programmer to understand how to utilize the tools offered by Tenrox Timesheet.
Tenrox is SAS70 certified (Statement on Auditing Standards), which increases the effectiveness of internal control over financial reporting. Employees that have been with your company for several years will like the seniority-based leave time accrual option. This application is compliant with cost accounting standards of the DCAA (Defense Contract Audit Agency) as well.
Tenrox Timesheet has a complex feature set, but it is still very easy to use. There is a bit of a learning curve as you begin to use the application. However, after some trial and error, as well as a tutorial or two, you'll be able to use all of the tools almost instinctively. The demos, videos and tutorials on the Tenrox website will help you understand how much this application can do, and we recommend using them.
The support system is one of the few things that we find to be disappointing with Tenrox Timesheet. The support center on the Tenrox website requires you do create an account before receiving any help. We used Tenrox's contact form to ask them some questions, and after five days of not getting a reply, we wrote them again. A customer support representative replied a few hours after our second email. We also used their Live Chat support, but the person we were chatting with recommended we use their phone support to get a better explanation of Timesheet's features. Aside from these few hiccups, Tenrox does offer helpful tutorials and demos to help you better understand what Tenrox Timesheet is capable of.
Tenrox Timesheet is a capable and powerful tracking application. We appreciate its compatibility with many payroll, CRM and accounting programs. We also commend Tenrox for creating a web-based solution as well as a mobile application. This time tracking software is always up-to-date and can be accessed from anywhere. The only area we would like to see improved by Tenrox is the customer support system. But if you're looking for a thorough way to track your employees' time and manage projects, Tenrox Timesheet is among the best options available.
